Important Comments: This antibody is expected to recognise an epitope corresponding to aa 429-442 of human LXR alpha protein (NP_005684.2) and to aa 443-456 of human LXR beta protein (NP_009052.3).

Purification and Storage

Purified from goat serum by ammonium sulphate precipitation followed by antigen affinity chromatography using the immunizing peptide.
Supplied at 0.5 mg/ml in Tris saline, 0.02% sodium azide, pH7.3 with 0.5% bovine serum albumin.
Aliquot and store at -20°C. Minimize freezing and thawing.

Applications Tested

Peptide ELISA: antibody detection limit dilution 1:32000.
Western blot: Approx 55kDa band observed in Human Spleen lysates (calculated MW of 50.5kDa according to NP_005684.2 and 50.1kDa according to NP_009052.3). Recommended concentration: 1-3µg/ml. Additional minor bands were also consistently observed in Human Spleen at 38kDa and 75kDa. These bands were successfully blocked by incubation with the immunising peptide. Primary incubation was 1 hour. Preliminary testing was unsuccessful on Mouse and Rat for this particular batch.
